Week 17 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. A lot of players will be held out or see diminished roles, giving others rare opportunities. With that in mind, we’ll pick wide receivers who should exceed expectations in Week 17, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Wide receivers
We break down the top starting options at wide receiver this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
Goodwin has been money since Jimmy Garoppolo took over at quarterback, save for last week’s struggle against the stout Jacksonville secondary. This week, a potentially tough matchup is going to be de-fanged by Sean McVay, as the Rams are resting key players in advance of the playoffs. Goodwin needs 66 yards for 1,000 on the season and Garoppolo will make sure he gets it, and more.
We’ve been saying it all season: Play Hilton in home games. Now, granted, his past four home games were terrible, but three came against Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Denver. When he played the Texans in Houston in Week 9, he put up a 5-175-2 line. He’s another receiver on the verge of 1,000 yards and there won’t be a lick of defense played in this one.
Marvin Jones, Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers
The Lions are not resting their starters despite being knocked out of playoff contention. The Packers back end is a sieve. Jones has owned the Packers in his career and dropped a 7-107-2 on them in Week 9. He should have his way one more time at home.
Sit
DeAndre Hopkins, Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts
Bill O’Brien isn’t playing him, and neither should you.
Andy Reid isn’t playing him, and neither should you.
This one is a little tougher. The Eagles starters are expected to play some, but it could be as little as a half, or even a quarter. Think of it like a preseason week, and if you have better, four-quarter options, look in that direction.
