The first half of the NFL season opener belonged to New England Patriots running back Mike Gillislee, but Kareem Hunt made a huge name for himself as well in his NFL debut. The 2017 third-round pick rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown, and caught five passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Kareem Hunt overcomes early fumble for monster fantasy performance in debut
The Chiefs’ third-round pick is putting in some serious fantasy work.

The Chiefs planned on opening the season with Hunt complementing Spencer Ware. However, a knee injury ended Ware’s season and moved Hunt into the starting lineup. While the Patriots running back situation remains a mystery, there is no doubt that Hunt is “the man” in the Chiefs backfield moving forward.
The big day is a welcome relief for Hunt after opening the game with a fumble on his first regular season carry. It looked like it would set the Patriots up to put this game away quickly, but Hunt and the Chiefs bounced back in a huge way.
