The New York Giants want to put the turmoil of their 2017 season behind them. Despite being one of the worst and most dramatic years in Giants history, there was one bright spot on offense. The Giants’ first-round draft pick, tight end Evan Engram, had a great year. The 23rd overall pick led all rookie tight ends in catches, yards, and touchdowns. He finished the season with 64 receptions, 722 yards, and six touchdowns. He was fifth in receiving yards among all tight ends and tied for seventh in touchdown receptions alongside fellow rookie tight end O.J. Howard.
Evan Engram will be a hot commodity in 2018 after excellent rookie season
Engram was one of the few bright spots on an awful Giants offense in 2017. Will he continue to shine when Odell Beckham Jr. returns to the lineup next year?

Looking ahead to 2018
Engram has a lot of changes coming next season. 2018 will be a year of rebuilding for the Giants. They began overhauling the organization during the season after they fired their head coach and general manager. In addition to new faces running the team, the former Ole Miss big man will have to adjust to some old teammates back in the lineup, notably Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham went down in Week 5 with a broken ankle and missed the rest of the season. Engram led the Giants receiving corp in receptions and touchdowns in Beckham’s absence. He should remain a big part of the Giants offense next season, but his production could slip with Beckham’s return.
Fantasy Slant
Engram will be a hot commodity in 2018 drafts. As a rookie, he was one of only five tight ends to crack 700 receiving yards last season. The TE position is very thin. Engram will not last long on the board. If he falls past the seventh round it will be a shocker.
