Rookie wide receiver Cooper Kupp had instant chemistry with Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff this season.
Cooper Kupp can break out in 2018 with a few improvements
The slot receiver was the Rams’ top target in his rookie year. He looks to build on that chemistry with quarterback Jared Goff.

The 69th overall pick was Goff’s favorite target all year. Kupp led the Rams in targets and receiving yards. He finished his rookie season with 62 catches out of 92 targets, totaling 869 yards and five touchdowns. He was second in receptions and receiving touchdowns behind running back Todd Gurley.
Kupp also led the 2017 draft class in receptions. He was also second among all rookies in receiving yards and touchdowns behind Pittsburgh Steelers slot receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Kupp had a great season, but it was far from perfect. He hit a wall in Week 5 through Week 10, in which he was held under 60 receiving yards in each of those games. Kupp also had some big drops throughout the year.
Looking ahead to 2018
Kupp will look to expand his role with the Rams next season. The third-round pick needs to get better in clutch plays. Kupp occasionally had miscues with Goff in critical situations this season. He is going to have to work hard in the offseason to continue to stay relevant in the loaded Rams receiving corps.
Fantasy Slant
Kupp has a lot of promise for owners in the years to come. He is likely to come off draft boards around the fourth or fifth round in 2018. Kupp is a WR3 on the rise. He could easily become a WR2 next season if he gets on a scoring streak.
