The season ended abruptly for Houston Texans rookie running back D’Onta Foreman. The third-round pick tore his Achilles tendon in the Texans’ Week 11 win over the Arizona Cardinals after his best rushing effort. He had 10 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns before he was carted off the field.
D’Onta Foreman focuses on his recovery heading into 2018
The Texans hope their promising rookie back can return from a torn Achilles next season.

Foreman worked his way up to the No. 2 role in the Texans backfield behind Lamar Miller. He even began to threaten Miller for the starting role late in the season. Foreman finished his rookie campaign with 78 rushes for 327 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught six passes for 83 yards in 2017.
Looking ahead to 2018
Foreman’s top priority is his health this offseason. He joined a long list of injured Texans when he went down in Week 11. The 89th overall pick needs to focus on his football conditioning as well, something the Texans head coach Bill O’Brien pointed out during the season.
The Texans like Foreman a lot and they hope he can get back on the same track when he is healthy next season. The former University of Texas rusher has the potential to challenge Lamar Miller for carries in 2018.
Fantasy Slant
Foreman emerged as a fantasy threat late in the season. He is going to be a player to watch this offseason. He will likely be a late-round steal in the 2018 draft. His health will scare many owners, but he has the talent to end the season as the workhorse in Houston.
