Kenny Golladay started and ended his rookie season with big performances. The middle of the year was not so friendly to the Detroit Lions’ rookie wide receiver, however. Golladay caught four passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns in the Lions’ season opener. Things quickly changed for the third-round pick when he injured his hamstring in Week 3 and missed the next five games.
Kenny Golladay aims to be more prominent in the offense next season
The Lions’ rookie deep threat hopes to have a bigger impact on the passing game in 2018 under a new coaching regime.

He returned to the field in Week 10 and was able to have a few good outings. Golladay caught two passes in the Lions’ final game of the season for 80 yards and a touchdown. He finished his rookie year with 28 catches for 477 yards and three touchdowns.
Looking ahead to 2018
There are a lot of changes coming to Detroit in 2018 — the Lions will have a new head coach and offensive coordinator, for starters. Golladay should remain the No. 3 wide receiver in Detroit behind Marvin Jones Jr. and Golden Tate next season regardless of the coaching changes. The 96th overall pick from 2017 will focus on building more of a rapport with QB Matthew Stafford this summer, and his big-play abilities will be something to watch going forward.
Fantasy Slant
Golladay showed some of his abilities during his rookie campaign, but he was not consistent enough to trust in fantasy on a weekly basis. He should get better in 2018, but he will still have to work for targets behind Jones and Tate. He is very talented flex option that will be available in the late rounds next season.
