The Tennessee Titans made a lot of moves to improve the passing game in the 2017 draft, drafting wide receivers in two of the first three rounds. Most of the Titans’ attention was given to fifth overall pick Corey Davis. Fellow rookie receiver Taywan Taylor lived in his shadow.
Taywan Taylor hopes to make bigger impact in 2018
Taylor will look to come out of the shadow of a deep Titans’ receiving corps in 2018.

Taylor had a lackluster first season. He lost his slot receiver role to Eric Decker in the offseason and struggled to get noticed in a very crowded Titans’ receiving corps. Taylor finished his rookie campaign with 16 catches on 27 targets for 231 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing eight times for 43 yards.
Looking ahead to 2018
Taylor should have a better sophomore year in Tennessee. There are a lot of changes happening on the team and in the front office next season: Decker will be a free agent in the offseason and it is unlikely the Titans will give him a new contract heading into 2018. The Titans will also have a new head coach next year. Taylor should benefit from the changes, and he needs to work on his chemistry with QB Marcus Mariota in the offseason as well.
Fantasy Slant
Taylor did not do anything noteworthy in fantasy this season. He should improve next year, but he will not be on owners’ radars for the draft. He could become a valuable waiver wire pick up at some point in 2018 if he gets hot during the season, but has to prove himself on the field before the fantasy respect comes.
