The Green Bay Packers were determined to improve their running game in 2017, taking three running backs in the draft heading into this season. The Packers selected Jamaal Williams in the fourth round, Aaron Jones in the fifth round, and Devante Mays in the seventh. Jones emerged from the pack as the most dominant rusher in the Packers’ backfield — the 182nd pick had 81 carries for 448 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games. He also added nine catches for 22 yards in the passing game.
Aaron Jones is front-runner to be Packers’ fantasy workhorse in 2018
Jones has to recover from a knee injury this summer, but he is expected to get the starting job when he returns to the Packers’ backfield.

Jones also faced some hurdles his rookie year. After working his way up to the starting role, he missed several games battling an MCL sprain, and he missed the final game of the season battling knee issues.
Looking ahead to 2018
Jones has to focus on getting healthy over the summer. He is the front-runner to lead a loaded Packers backfield in 2018. Jones was the best rusher in Green Bay this season, averaging over t yards per carry, and he tied for the fifth-best rushing average in the NFL and second-best rushing average among the 2017 draft class behind New Orleans Saints standout rookie Alvin Kamara. Jones could have a breakout season next year if he can stay healthy.
Fantasy Slant
Barring any setbacks, Jones will be a hot pick in 2018. The injuries may make some owners hesitant to pick him too early, but Jones will likely be drafted by the seventh round in most leagues.
