The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of talented receivers. Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson lead the way, but rookie wideout Chris Godwin made a case for more targets after a strong first year in the league.
Chris Godwin will have to work hard to make a fantasy impact in 2018
Eyes will be on Godwin as he fights for a slot role in a crowded Bucs’ receiving corps next season.

Godwin finished his rookie campaign with 34 catches for 525 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Godwin was lost in a Bucs’ passing game that included a lot of targets last season. He operated as the No. 4 target all year. The 84th pick made the most of his opportunities, especially as a starter. He caught 15 passes for 277 yards and a touchdown in his three starts of the season.
Looking ahead to 2018
Godwin made his case to get more work in the Bucs’ offense in 2018. He still has to compete with a slew of talented receivers to get playing time. The third-round pick is expected to challenge and could win the slot role from Adam Humphries over the summer. He has breakout potential if he secures the slot receiver job in 2018.
Fantasy Slant
A promotion to slot receiver will have a owners upping Godwin’s fantasy stock next year. However, he is still in a very loaded Bucs’ receiving corps. Owners will look at Godwin in the late rounds of the draft next season. He will have a lot more fantasy appeal if he secures the slot position in 2018.
