The Denver Broncos made a move to improve their quarterback situation by signing former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum to a two-year, $36 million deal.
Case Keenum set to run the Broncos’ offense in 2018
Denver signed the sixth-year QB to a two-year, $36 million deal Tuesday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Denver will look to Keenum to overhaul their young QB corps that is expected to include Paxton Lynch and Chad Kelly next season. The sixth-year QB reconnects with his former head coach Gary Kubiak. Kubiak signed Keenum to the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Kubiak now serves as a senior personnel adviser to Broncos general manager John Elway.
Keenum caught the league’s attention after leading the Vikings to the NFC Championship this season. He started the year as the backup to Sam Bradford before taking over the starting role in Week 2. Keenum finished the season with a career-high 3,547 passing yards and 22 touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Denver needs to overhaul a lot of parts in their offense this offseason. Keenum was a good start. He brings experience and now some success to the QB room in Denver. Keenum is no sure bet, however. He has not put together back-to-back good seasons in his career. Owners should keep an eye on the other moves the Broncos make this offseason to beef up the receiving corps and offensive line. Keenum has plenty fantasy promise, but it is best to see him as a late-round QB2 for now.
