The Cleveland Browns were very busy before the new league year got started, acquiring some much-needed experience on offense. The Browns made a deal with the Buffalo Bills to acquire eighth-year quarterback Tyrod Taylor in exchange for their 65th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Taylor’s deal was announced hours after the Browns finalized a deal for former Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl deep threat Jarvis Landry.
Cleveland gets fantasy experience under center with Tyrod Taylor
The Browns traded their third-round pick to acquire Taylor. We look at the fantasy implications.

Taylor is a major improvement under center for the Browns. He was a Pro Bowler in 2015 and ended the Bills 17-year playoff drought. He had 3,000 passing yards and over 500 rushing yards two of the last three seasons. He also has at least 18 touchdowns each year since 2015. Taylor’s biggest upside is ball security. He has thrown just 16 picks the last three seasons. Former Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer, who is now with the Green Bay Packers, threw 22 interceptions last year alone.
Fantasy Impact: Taylor will have weapons in the passing game when he gets to Cleveland. The Browns already had Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman on the roster and now they have brought in Landry to make the corps even stronger. Taylor should have a strong season if the Browns do not try to make him a pocket passer. This will be an interesting scenario to watch. Right now, Taylor is a mid- to late-round backup fantasy QB. Over the course of the season, he has a solid chance to move into a starting fantasy role with the talent around him.
