Once again in this free agent period, the New York Jets find themselves shopping for a quarterback. Tuesday the Jets signed former Minnesota Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year deal worth up to $15 million. They also re-signed 38-year-old QB Josh McCown to a one-year, $10 million extension the same day. The Jets are also rumored to be considering drafting a QB in the first-round of this season’s draft.
Teddy Bridgewater will test rehabbed knee, fantasy relevance with the Jets in 2018
The Jets agreed to a one-year, $5 million deal with Bridgewater after missing two seasons with a devastating knee injury. We look at the fantasy impact.

Bridgewater missed the better part of two seasons after suffering a catastrophic knee injury in camp in August 2016. He returned to practice in the middle of the 2017 season and saw very limited action in the final game of the season. The 25-year-old has not had any setbacks in his recovery. Bridgewater showed a lot of promise in his first two years in the league prior to his injury. He threw right around 3,000 yards and 14 touchdown passes each of his first two seasons.
Fantasy impact: Bridgewater is a promising QB, but he is essentially starting his career over in 2018. It is wise for the Jets to sign several options at QB this offseason. Bridgewater believes he is ready to be a starter, however, he has not seen any real game action since the 2015 season. There also are too many unknowns on how his knee will hold up. If he emerges as the Jets’ starter, owners may notice, however, Bridgewater will likely be on waivers to start the season.
