The Oakland Raiders seem to be stocking up on running backs. Thursday, they signed former Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Doug Martin to a one-year deal. Martin joins a loaded Raiders backfield that, for now, includes Marshawn Lynch, DeAndre Washington, Jalen Richard, and Elijah Hood. The Raiders may be considering cutting ties with some of these rushers this offseason, namely Lynch. As of now, all five backs are expected to be in the Raiders’ camp this summer.
Doug Martin takes fantasy talents to Raiders
Martin struck a one-year deal to join a crowded Raiders backfield in 2018. We break down the fantasy impact.

Martin is a versatile back who can be effective in the running and the passing game. Unfortunately, he struggles with consistency. He has also been plagued with injuries and off-the-field issues in his career. The Raiders hope Martin can return to his 2012 and 2015 form when he rushed for over 1,400 yards.
Fantasy impact: Martin does not have any fantasy value until the Raiders let some of their running backs go. He will have to compete to make the 53-man roster this summer. The 29-year-old has the talent to be a feature back. He will not be able to do that with Lynch on the roster. There are a lot of unknowns in the Raiders’ running game right now. Owners should let the dust settle before pulling the trigger on Martin. He could be a hot commodity in late August or a cut casualty.
