The Oakland Raiders have been busy this free agency period. In the opening days of free agency, they signed longtime Green Bay Packers wideout Jordy Nelson to a two-year, $15 million contract. Nelson replaces Michael Crabtree as the No. 2 receiving option behind Amari Cooper. At 33, he will be the oldest receiver the Raiders’ corps next season.

Nelson left his 10-year career in Green Bay for a two-year, $15 million deal with the Raiders. We break down the fantasy impact.

Nelson had the third-worst season of his 10-year career in 2017. He struggled through the year with injuries and the loss of starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Nelson caught 53 passes for 482 yards last season. He salvaged the season with six touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: Not sure what John Gruden’s Raiders have in mind by signing Nelson. He is slated to replace Crabtree. However, Nelson is older and has lost a step due to injuries. He does have a ton of experience specifically in the playoffs. He should be able to guide the Raiders’ young corps of receivers. That will not translate over to fantasy though. Nelson will take a backseat to Cooper and possibly other receivers throughout the season. He will not be on a lot of owners’ radars this year.
