The free agency period started off well for former Washington receiver Ryan Grant. He signed a four-year deal worth $29 million the first week of free agency with the Baltimore Ravens. The high did not last long as the Ravens voided the contract days later after Grant failed his physical with the team. It did not take long for the four-year wideout to land on his feet, however. Grant came to terms with the Indianapolis Colts for one-year, $5 million the following week. He joins a thin Colts’ receiving corps that includes T.Y. Hilton and Chester Rodgers.
Colts beef up receiving corps with Ryan Grant
The Colts signed Grant to a one-year, $5 million deal days after his multi-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens was voided. We look at the fantasy implications.

Grant was used sporadically in Washington’s passing game. The 27-year-old managed 85 catches for 985 yards and six touchdowns in his four seasons with the team. Grant also never got hurt in Washington until he suffered an ankle injury the season finale of the 2017 season.
Fantasy impact: Grant fills the void free agent Donte Moncrief left behind in Indianapolis when he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Grant is a reliable receiver who gives the Colts much needed help in the passing game. He has the potential to be a fantasy breakout in Indianapolis. Quarterback Andrew Luck will not have many options, which should up Grant’s targets considerably next season. He is also likely to play with a chip on his shoulder after the deal with the Ravens went south. Grant looks to be a WR3 with upside heading into 2018.
