Welcome to the 2025 fantasy football season. Today we’ll take a look at standard wide receivers for Week 1. We have more questions than answers right now, but that’s what makes it fun! Will Ben Johnson and Liam Coen turn their respective quarterbacks around? Will the Cowboys passing game blow up with the addition of George Pickens? Will rookies continue to be strong fantasy plays this season? We’ll start getting answers to those questions this week!
Top 120 fantasy football standard wide receivers for Week 1
Chet Gresham takes us through the top 120 standard wide receivers for Week 1

WR injuries
Jalen Coker, Team
Coker suffered a quad injury in practice and ended up landing on IR, which will keep him out at least the first four weeks. This comes after the Panthers traded away Adam Thielen and Coker was set to take his slot position. At this point Xavier Leggette looks to get a bump for fantasy.
Darnell Mooney, Falcons
Mooney dealt with a shoulder injury which kept him out in preseason, but he has returned to practice. As long as he can get in a full practice or two this week he should be good to go.
Jayden Reed, Packers
Reed has a Jones fracture in his foot, which he plans to play through. It’s difficult to know how much it will effect his play, but it is concerning for his year-long outlook.
Josh Downs, Colts
Downs is dealing with a hamstring issue, but is supposed to return to practice this week. We’ll need to see how much he can practice this week before feeling good about his status or not.
Jauan Jennings, 49ers
Jenings returned to practice Monday after dealing with a calf injury and a contract dispute. He has a week to get ramped up for primetime, which might nt be enough time. At this I wouldn’t expect a full complement of snaps in Week 1.
Chris Godwin, Buccaneers
Godwin won’t go on I.R., but he also won’t play until October. Jalen McMillan is also out in Tampa Bay until mid-season. Both injuries help boost Emeka Egbuka into a full time role.
Rookies to Watch
Travis Hunter, Jaguars
All eyes will be on Hunter in Week 1 as he will make his official NFL debut on Sunday when the Jaguars host the Panthers. The two-way superstar from Colorado won the Heisman Trophy last year for his elite play at both wide receiver and cornerback, creating genuine intrigue about how he will be used when he steps on the field for Jacksonville this season.
Tetairoa McMillan, Panthers
McMillan was the second receiver to be drafted in April at No. 8 and will make his pro debut when the Panthers visit the Jaguars on Sunday. The 6’5” wideout is expected to be a big target right out the gate for the Carolina offense and is
Emeka Egbuka, Buccaneers
The first-round pick out of Ohio State will get his first taste of NFL action when the Bucs visit the Falcons on Sunday. Egbuka drew nothing but praise for his work in training camp and will have a chance to make an immediate impact with Chris Godwin still working his way back from a dislocated ankle injury.
Isaac TeSlaa, Lions
TeSlaa has the chance to be a breakout sleeper candidate and will make his Lions debut when the team opens the season against the Packers on Sunday. The third-round pick out of Arkansas was a playmaker throughout the preseason and many believe that he could be the newest X-factor for the Detroit offense.
Week 1 odds
When looking at game odds for fantasy receivers, we want high scoring games that are close or where the receivers team trails. An example below could be the Cowboys, who are big underdogs, while their offense is pass first. We should expect 40+ attempts from Dak Prescott, which should keep his receivers from flopping.
