The Tennessee Titans are in disarray as they move on from head coach Brian Callahan and his offensive line coach father after a somewhat predictable 1-5 start. With journeyman coach Mike McCoy taking over, we probably can’t expect a big turnaround, but with change there is sometimes a spark. This week they stay at home as 7-point home underdogs against the New England Patriots.
Chig Okonkwo start or sit: Week 7 fantasy football advice
We break down the fantasy football outlook of Chig Okonkwo ahead of Week 7

The Titans nominal No. 1 receiver, Calvin Ridley, is dealing with a hamstring injury and looks unlikely to play, which puts Elic Ayomanor and Chig Okonkwo as the Top-2 receivers. The question is, can any receiver be fantasy worthy for the Titans?
Below, we’ll go over Chig Okonkwo’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 7.
Fantasy Football analysis: Titans, TE, Chig Okonkwo
Okonkwo has long been a player we’ve looked at as someone with high-potential if given a strong workload. And thankfully this season we’ve seen his snap count become much more consistent. Unfortunately, his target numbers have been lowish and the offense overall has been bad.
He ranks as TE20 on the season, and he’s been pretty consistent in that range. His 23 receptions rank 10th for tight ends, while his 223 yards rank 14th. It’s his zero touchdowns that are killing his fantasy value so far.
The Patriots have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends with 100+ yard games to Brock Bowers and Dalton Kincaid. Okonkwo should see an uptick in usage with Ridley out and as seven-point underdogs going against a good run defense, Cam Ward will likely need to throw the ball. All of this adds up to a positive matchup for Okonkwo, but I can’t get him into my Top-12 tight ends for the week. He makes for a good streamer where a better option isn’t available, but in 12-team leagues I’d rather stay cautious.
