The 2025 NFL preseason is wrapping up and that means fantasy football draft season is underway. We finally made it people.
Fantasy football QB sleepers for 2025
Nick Simon dives into a few sleeper quarterbacks to consider for your fantasy drafts this season.

The key to assembling a roster that could carry you to your league’s championship game in January is hitting on the sleeper picks that you make in August, and that very much applies to the quarterback room that you assemble. The Lamar Jackson’s and Josh Allen’s of the world are the obvious go-to choices at the top of the board, but it’s those signal-callers in the tier below that could make a huge difference. That especially rings true in deeper leagues or if one of those elite guys aren’t playing.
Below, I’ll give you three sleeper quarterbacks for you to consider ahead of your respective drafts. Considering that the average fantasy football league consists of 10-12 teams, I’ll define a sleeper for this exercise as someone currently falling in the 13-21 range of ADP (average draft position) according to FantasyPros. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Drake Maye, New England Patriots
ADP: QB16, 123 Overall
Maye managed to deliver a solid effort as a rookie in 2024 and was one of the lone bright spots during the team’s otherwise dismal 4-13 campaign. The No. 3 overall pick of last year’s draft completed 66.6% of his passes for 2,276 yards with 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 starts for the Pats. He also notably had 421 rushing yards on 7.8 yards per carry, the highest ypc among starting QB’s with at least 20 rushing attempts last season. Some of that can be attributed to him being forced to run for his life at times due to New England’s pass protection struggles, but his mobility is what helped make him a highly touted prospect coming out of North Carolina.
The Pats QB is primed to take a jump in Year 2 considering that he’ll have a more stable situation around him with Mike Vrabel now running the show as head coach. He’s now under the tutelage of veteran offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who in his third stint in Foxborough, and has a big-play receiving target in Stefon Diggs, who is on track to playing in Week 1 after tearing his ACL with the Houston Texans last October. The team also got him some much-needed protection in the form of left tackle Will Campbell, who they took with the No. 4 pick of the NFL Draft in April.
If these offseason personnel upgrades pan out and Maye shows improvement over his rookie season, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him creeping around the top 10 by the end of the year.
Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
ADP: QB18, 130 Overall
Love broke out as a top-five fantasy QB in his first year as a starter in 2023 with over 4,000 yards passing before taking a step back last season. An early MCL sprain sidelined him for two games and he was a bit up and down upon his return, tossing 14 touchdowns and 10 interceptions over a seven-game stretch. However, he managed zero turnovers over the last seven games of the regular season and finished as the the 17th-ranked fantasy QB with 3,389 passing yards and 25 touchdowns on the year.
Love has proven to be one of the more effective passers in the league as the Packers have been a top-10 team in passing EPA during both of his seasons as their starter. Their young receiver room added even more depth with the addition of first-round pick Matthew Golden this offseason and he still has All-Pro tailback Josh Jacobs to lean on as a safety valve out of the backfield.
This season could very well see him return to his 2023 form and his desire to use his legs as a running option more could make him an even bigger threat in fantasy football.
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars
ADP: QB20, 142 Overall
It’s kind of weird labeling a former No. 1 overall pick as a sleeper, but that’s where we are at this juncture of Lawrence’s career in Duval County. Injuries and inconsistent play have plagued the QB over the last two seasons, evidenced by a disastrous end to the 2024 campaign where he returned from a shoulder injury only to suffer a season-ending concussion through a violent hit by Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
Entering 2025, there’s a chance for the now fifth-year veteran to experience a resurgence with Liam Coen now manning the helm as Jags head coach. Coen earned the gig for his work as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ OC last season, scheming an offense where Baker Mayfield threw for exactly 4,500 yards and 41 touchdowns while boasting the third-best success rate in the NFL. He’ll have as his OC Grant Udinski, who helped Sam Darnold experience a career year as an assistant with the Minnesota Vikings last season.
With new offensive voices and talent like Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Etienne, and Travis Hunter to lean on, the ingredients are in place for Lawrence to get his career trajectory swinging back upwards. If you see him sitting there in the middle rounds of your draft, it’d be a wise move to give it some thought.
