Hank Haney Says Tiger Woods Tore His ACL Training With Navy SEALs

Getty ImagesTiger Woods’ old swing coach, Hank Haney, is releasing a tell-all book just in time for the Master’s, and it appears the revelations about Tiger will keep coming out. After an excerpt was published in Golf Digest that told of Tiger’s training sessions with Navy SEALs in 2007, there was an apparent oversight that The New York TImes Book Review caught: that training may have been what caused Woods to tear his ACL:

The injury that forced Tiger Woods to withdraw from the WGC Cadillac Championship isn’t believed to be serious, Woods tweeted Monday evening:
Woods is slated to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which starts March 22. Assuming he’s able to compete, it will serve as his last tuneup before the 2012 Masters, which starts April 5.

Tiger Woods’ withdrawal from the 2012 WGC-Cadillac Championship in the fourth round on Sunday appeared at first blush related to Woods suffering a leg or foot injury.
But Tiger’s injury is to his Achilles tendon, according to a statement he issued after his withdrawal.
