Tiger Woods’ old swing coach, Hank Haney, is releasing a tell-all book just in time for the Master’s, and it appears the revelations about Tiger will keep coming out. After an excerpt was published in Golf Digest that told of Tiger’s training sessions with Navy SEALs in 2007, there was an apparent oversight that The New York TImes Book Review caught: that training may have been what caused Woods to tear his ACL:
Hank Haney Says Tiger Woods Tore His ACL Training With Navy SEALs
Hank Haney, in his tell-all book, writes that Tiger Woods tore his ACL while training with Navy SEALs, not while running, as Woods said at the time.
Haney says he was told Woods tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in an exercise with the SEALs, not while running at home.
Haney grew concerned about Woods's workouts and his focus on weight lifting. Haney thought Woods was "inordinately interested in muscle-building," which Haney believed did not help Woods's game and led to injuries. He says that Woods injured his right Achilles' tendon doing Olympic-style lifts, not while running during testing for new Nike shoes, as he publicly stated.

Obviously, this doesn’t affect Woods today physically and while dealing with his current injury, an Achilles strain. But Woods has been noticeably peeved when confronted about Haney’s book, and that’s not likely to go away anytime soon.
