The injury that forced Tiger Woods to withdraw from the WGC Cadillac Championship isn’t believed to be serious, Woods tweeted Monday evening:
Tiger Woods Injury: Mild Achilles Strain Won’t Sideline Woods Long
Got good news from doc tonight. Only mild strain of left Achilles. Can resume hitting balls late in week and hopeful for next week.

Woods is slated to play in the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which starts March 22. Assuming he’s able to compete, it will serve as his last tuneup before the 2012 Masters, which starts April 5.
Woods has a history of Achilles injuries, withdrawing from the Players Championship last May due to the ailment and missing several months while it healed. He admitted after withdrawing from the WGC that his Achilles felt tight on Sunday morning and grew progressively more painful the rest of the day. Given his past ailments, he opted to play it safe rather than risk further injury by continuing to play.
