2012 Masters Leaderboard Update: Tiger Woods Has Silly Time on 13, Doesn’t Hurt Score

Tiger Woods managed to maintain his position at two-over through 14 - solidly in position to make the cut, but quickly falling out of relevance in terms of actual contention, seven back of the lead held by Fred Couples and Jason Dufner. Meanwhile, his partner for the day, Miguel Angel Jimenez, is threatening for the lead with a four-under.

On the 13th, Woods’ problem was getting to the green, on the 14th, his trend of poor putting continued and left him at par.

Tiger had quite an adventure on the par-5 13th. His tee shot tailed off to the left, as his tee shots this tournament have been wont to do, causing him to say things he shouldn’t say with children watching. However, he still chose to take a shot at the green. At first, his shot looked like it would end up in the brook guarding the green, but it didn’t. It ended up here:

That made Tiger make this face:

Tiger chose to take a penalty and drop rather than hit out of that awkward lie, but a nice approach shot and put allowed him to save par, giving him his 66th consecutive par-5 at Augusta without hitting a bogey.

The 14th saw a nice approach shot give Woods a relatively close putt for par, but he pulled it to the left, keeping him at two-over.
