Tiger Woods didn’t make the run some expected him to on moving day at the Masters, but he was able to rebound from some early issues to post a solid 2-under 70. The leaders are still on the course, but as of now, Woods will open the final round four strokes off the lead.

He may not have been at his best on Saturday, but Tiger Woods was able to play well enough to give himself a shot at the green jacket on Sunday.
Woods opened the day strong with a birdie at the first hole, but had some issues on the rest of the front nine. There were plenty of birdie opportunities, but Woods’ putter let him down early. After a bogey on No. 9, he made the turn at even-par on the round and 1-under overall.
The back nine hasn’t been kind to Woods recently, as he hasn’t shot an under-par final nine in his last eight rounds at Augusta National. That trend looked like it was going to continue, as Woods started the final nine par-bogey. Then, he turned things around, finishing Amen Corner birdie-birdie.
Woods headed to the par-5 15th at 2-under overall. No. 15 was where he ran into trouble on Friday, as after his approach shot ricocheted off the flag stick and into the water hazard, Woods took an illegal drop. He was penalized two stokes on Saturday morning.
He made it through the 15th unscathed on Saturday as a drilled second-shot put him in position for an eagle putt. His putt came up short, but he tapped in for birdie. Woods ran into trouble as he attempted to close out his round, but was able to come through with par saves. He got up-and-down out of the sand on No. 17 to save par, and then finished the round with an eight-foot putt to save par on No. 18.
Woods was not nearly as sharp on Saturday as he was on Friday, but he managed to string together a 2-under 34 on the final nine holes. He is currently tied for seventh place at 3-under overall and within striking distance of the leaders heading into Sunday.
