2015 Travelers Championship: Tee times, pairings for Sunday’s round in Hartford

Bubba Watson feels right at home at the Travelers, and he’ll make another run at the championship in the final tee time on Sunday.

It’s never ideal to host a tournament the week after a major championship, but the Travelers does just about as good as job as any given their spot on the schedule. The annual stop in Hartford does everything they can to attract the strongest field possible, and it’s a fairly good group that hopped across the entire country after playing the “toughest test in golf” last week.

Bubba Watson has made the Travelers one of his signature events, and he’s been back at the top of the leaderboard for most of this week. This was the site of Bubba’s first win back in 2010, when he broke down on that final green celebrating that breakthrough title with his dad extremely sick back home. It’s also the place where he chewed out his caddie Ted Scott during that 2013 implosion down the stretch, the CBS cameras catching the entire exchange and giving fans a real public glimpse into the temperamental star.

Bubba started the year strong enough, posting a couple top 10s and nearly winning at both Phoenix and Doral. But it’s been relatively quiet since then. He was one of the favorites at Augusta, but never came close to having an impact at the Masters. And then last week, he had his usual gripes with the U.S. Open setup and unsurprisingly bombed out early after just two rounds. This venue, TPC River Highlands, is like a second home and he promptly found his form on Thursday with an opening round 62.

Watson finally relinquished his top spot on the leaderboard late Saturday, when his former Georgia teammate, Brian Harman, jumped ahead with a 5-under round of 65. As Shane Ryan detailed in his book, excerpted here last week, Harman and Bubba aren’t exactly the best of friends from their playing days at UGA. But the two will be back out there again on Sunday.

Graham DeLaet, who moved six spots up the leaderboard on Saturday and is just a shot off the pace, will play with Harman and Bubba. The Tour opted to send the remaining 72 players out in groups of three and off split tees after heavy rains were forecasted overnight. The call was made early on Saturday before the leaders had even teed off in the third round. It’s fairly common for the Tour to condense things into a two-hour block of tee times on the weekend when weather gets in the way, and that’s almost a weekly occurrence this time of year.

Pushing back the tee times, however, should not change the expected finishing time. The final group should putt out on the 18th green right around 6 p.m. ET on CBS. Here’s the full tee sheet for the final round at the Travelers (all times ET):
