Indy 500 results 2015: Full finishing order

Leading a Team Penske 1-2 finish, Juan Pablo Montoya won his second Indianapolis 500 on Sunday.

In a thriller that saw multiple passes for the lead over the final 15 laps, Juan Pablo Montoya won his second Indianapolis 500 Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Montoya narrowly beat Team Penske teammate Will Power and Chip Ganassi Racing teammates Charlie Kimball and Scott Dixon. Graham Rahal finished fifth. The victory was Montoya’s second in the Indianapolis 500, with his first coming in 2000 when he drove for Ganassi.

Six cautions, all but one for accidents, slowed the race for 47 laps. The most serious wreck involved involving Stefano Coletti, Sebastian Saavedra and Jack Hawksworth colliding off Turn 4. Hawksworth and Saavedra both made heavy contact with the wall, while Coletti’s car briefly lifted off the ground. Hawksworth and Coletti walked uninjured, while Saavedra would be transported to the infield care center and diagnosed with a foot contusion.

Gabby Chaves was the highest finishing rookie in 16th.

Pre-race favorite Tony Kanaan was a contender all afternoon, but the popular Brazilian lost control in Turn 4 and crashed out, finishing 26th.
