Braves-Phillies, Live: Braves Strike First With Derrek Lee’s RBI Double, Lead 1-0

Kyle Kendrick had only allowed one earned run through 15 innings against the Braves this season, but the Braves doubled that total in one inning against the Phillies on Friday night.

With Jason Heyward on first, Derrek Lee doubled to the gap, and Heyward raced all the way around the bases to score. The Braves now lead entering the second inning, 1-0.

As mentioned earlier, a Braves win will go a long way toward ensuring a Wild Card berth. There will probably be no in-game scoreboard-watching, though, as the Padres and Giants don’t begin play tonight until 10:30 Eastern.
