Rays Vs. Rangers, ALDS Game 5: Rays Put Together Rally Against Cliff Lee

David Price was able to keep the Rangers quiet in the third - working around a Bengie Molina single and very, very unlikely stolen base - and then the Rays went to work against Cliff Lee and managed to even the score.

With one out, Sean Rodriguez slapped a single into right field. Jason Bartlett then came up and dropped a swinging bunt in front of the plate, but by the time Lee retrieved the ball and turned to throw to first, it was too late, and everyone was safe.

That brought Ben Zobrist to the plate, and he fisted an 0-2 single into center field to score Rodriguez from third. To make matters worse for Texas, Josh Hamilton badly overthrew Molina at home, letting the runners move up to second and third.

Lee was able to escape, when Carl Crawford tapped back into a pickle, and Evan Longoria grounded out to second. So, on the one hand, the Rays used some good swings and good fortune to drive home the tying run against Cliff Lee. On the other hand, they had the middle of the order up with two guys in scoring position, and they couldn't cash in. There are positives and negative, and now we head to the fourth even at 1-1.

Lee is at 42 pitches, with 31 strikes.
