Rays Vs. Rangers, ALDS Game 5: Joaquin Benoit Keeps Rangers Scoreless In Eighth

Coming back from 3-1 against Cliff Lee and the Rangers is no easy task, but credit to the Rays bullpen for keeping the score where it is. After Grant Balfour threw a perfect seventh, Joaquin Benoit worked around an Evan Longoria to pitch a scoreless eighth, ending the frame by getting a 6-4-3 double play off the bat of Vladimir Guerrero.

We’re into the bottom of the eighth, and Lee is returning to the mound. He won’t have many pitches left in his arm, but he’s an efficient pitcher who doesn’t need many pitches to rack up three outs.

Darren Oliver and Darren O'Day are throwing in the Ranger bullpen.
