World Series lineup: Giants, Royals set starters for Game 4
The Giants and Royals are ready for Game 4 of the World Series. After making some changes in Game 3, the Royals will stick with the same lineup in Game 4.

The Kansas City Royals went with a defensive lineup in Game 3 to adjust for the loss of the designated hitter. It worked, so Ned Yost and Kansas City will stick with the same lineup for Game 4. That means Alex Gordon is back in the two-hole while Jarrod Dyson will once again start in centerfield and bat eighth. While the Royals are sticking with what worked, the San Francisco Giants did make a tweak for Game 4.
Travis Ishikawa has just one hit in the series and the Giants will instead turn to Juan Perez in left field. The 27-year-old Perez isn't known for his bat, but his defensive ability played a large part in him getting the start. Mike Morse was another option to play left field, but Giants manager Bruce Bochy said he wasn't comfortable with Morse playing the field after a long layoff from injury, according to Henry Schulman. With wind in the forecast, knocking off the rust in the field may not have been an easy task.
Lorenzo Cain, Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas will once again anchor the Kansas City lineup. With Dyson starting in centerfield again, Cain will shift to right field with Norichika Aoki heading to the bench to start the game. Jason Vargas will start for Kansas City, making his third start of the postseason. He turned in solid starts against Baltimore and Los Angeles earlier in the postseason. He's also a better-hitting pitcher than most, with a career .262 average in 61 at bats.
Kansas City leads the series 2-1. Here are full lineups for both teams:
