Bret Saberhagen to throw 1st pitch before World Series Game 7

Kansas City Royals legend Bret Saberhagen will return to the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night. Saberhagen made the announcement on Twitter after Kansas City dominated the San Francisco Giants 10-0 in Game 6 on Tuesday.

Saberhagen won the American League Cy Young Award in 1985 and 1989 with the Royals, and also threw out a ceremonial first pitch before Game 3 of the American League Championship Series against the Orioles. The last time Saberhagen took the mound in a World Series was in Game 7 of the 1985 World Series, pitching a shutout to give the Royals its only title.
