The Red Sox are relishing their World Series win at exactly the level a team celebrating its fourth championship in 14 years should. They’re the bullies now, after all. Top of the heap, can’t pretend you’re an underdog anymore. During the celebration, the team blasted “New York, New York” in the clubhouse, a nod to the Yankees doing it at Fenway after their lone ALDS win.
The Red Sox spent their morning replying to tweets from their Opening Day loss
Season might be over, but the petty continues.

So the petty kicked in right away after the champagne started flowing, and the official Red Sox Twitter account kept that mood going the entire morning after online. They made sure to remind everyone that they won a championship, which is fair enough. Be excited.
But they also replied to dozens of tweets from their Opening Day loss to the Rays, just in case those doubters were unsure of how Boston’s season ended. Because it ended with a W.
It was pretty fun to watch them repeatedly remind the fans (or non-fans) that they’re the champs and that people shouldn’t have been so quick to judge. Granted, it might not be as fun for you if you’re not a Red Sox fan but you can appreciate them taking advantage of the opportunity.
What a difference exactly seven months makes. They didn’t go overboard either. Dunking on people who were quick to judge must be fun, but everything is better in moderation.
