Columbus Crew vs. Toronto FC: Final score 2-1, Higuain scores twice

Federico Higuain scores twice as Columbus beats Toronto again.

In the first of two completely irrelevant matches in Major League Soccer today, the Columbus Crew beat Toronto FC 2-1.

Federico Higuain scored the first goal of the match after jumping on a loose ball at the top of Toronto's penalty area. His shot wasn't impressive at all, but Toronto's Freddy Hall is such a poor goalkeeper. I mean, the shot was past the poor guy before he even dove for it. The most interesting part of this goal is that his brother, a rather famous fellow that plays in Spain, scored minutes before he did.

Andrew Wiedeman scored an equalizer ten minutes later after beating Eric Gehrig to a long ball. Wiedeman easily finished past Andy Gruenebaum. It was his second goal of the season.

Higuain drew a penalty halfway through the second half and then converted the penalty for his fifth goal of the season and the win.

Columbus ends up missing the playoffs by one point behind the Houston Dynamo, while Toronto FC will begin next season as an expansion team. Well, they're a seventh year expansion team.
