SB Nation MMA has live coverage from Toronto, Ontario, Canada of UFC 129: GSP vs. Shields. The card is headlined by a welterweight title fight: Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields. The fight card also features Randy Couture vs. Lyoto Machida and a featherweight title fight between Jose Aldo and Mark Hominick. This is the largest UFC event ever held and is taking place at the Rogers Centre in front of 55,000 fans.

ROUND 5 - Shields opening the round with an air of desperation. “GSP!” chants fill the Rogers Centre. Again, St. Pierre goes to the overhand right and can’t get it. Right hand from St. Pierre stumbles Shields, but doesn’t rock him. Three minutes left and this has been a very conservative performance from GSP. The crowd getting restless now and on the verge of boos. Long jab from GSP finds the mark. Now the boos are showering the two fighters. Inside leg kick for St. Pierre, but without much authority. St. Pierre dodging most of what Shields throws, but not doing much of his own outside of jabbing and the occasional cross. The champion goes back to the overhand right and can’t get it. Shields stuffs a takedown from St. Pierre.

ROUND 4 - Shields comes out a little stronger this round to start, but is having trouble applying any pressure. GSP again catches a kick and drives Shields to the canvas before backing out. St. Pierre goes back to the double jab over hand right combination and can’t get it. Head kick from St. Pierre rocks Shields and drops him to the canvas. GSP follows up and is nearly reversed when he over commits on a punch. Shields strikes are barely moving at this point and he actually invites GSP to strike with him. Short right from Shields lands. St. Pierre’s face appears to be bloody under his left eye. GSP goes back to the overhand right that just isn’t there.

ROUND 3 - Shields coming out more aggressive but still hitting nothing but air. GSP doing an excellent job of dodging anything Shields throws, but has yet to turn his offense into high gear. Shields gets nailed with a punch and shoots. It’s immediately stuffed by GSP. Shields’ striking is whiffing badly. And again the overhand right for St. Pierre misses. Shields shoots again with not set up from strikes and St. Pierre just moves out of the way. GSP goes back to the overhand right and can’t hit anything significant. Right hand and caught kick for St. Pierre works. Huge takedown off of a caught kick for GSP.

ROUND 2 - Shields is nearly there every time for the right hand. Both fighters still not landing much of anything significant. Another right hand over the top that glances Shields’ chin. And another, but this one staggers Shields a little. Again, double jab to overhand right for GSP just slightly off target. Turning side kick pushes Shields back. Crowd getting a little restless from the lack of activity. And again, the overhand right just glances from the Canadian. 45 seconds left and Shields has not shot in on GSP one time throughout the course of two rounds. GSP switches to southpaw and stalks Shields, throws an outside leg kick that sends Shields to the mat.

ROUND 1 -Both fighters start out orthodox, GSP in a low crouch. Shields pawing with his jab, not hitting much and eats an inside leg kick. Shields grabs a single leg of GSP’s after catching a kick, but GSP breaks the grip. Shields now pressing GSP into the fence. Shields doing the stalking and eats a right straight off of a slow jab. Turning side kick misses for GSP. Right hand over the top nearly lands for GSP. Hard jab drives Shields to the mat but GSP doesn’t follow him there. Middle kick by GSP and Shields goes for single, but can get nothing. GSP briefly goes southpaw before returning normal and nearly lands flush a hard right hand.

But to Hominick’s credit, he never gave up and nearly knocked out Aldo as he spent almost the entire fifth round on top, pounding away and raining down shots on the champion. The fifth round surge wasn’t quite enough, though, as Aldo took home the unanimous decision and retained his belt.

ROUND 1 - Machida starts out in his wide stance, left-handed. Couture, standing orthodox, is trying to find a way inside already. Couture doing a ton of feints as he tries to trap Machida. Couture leans over after missing Machida and eats a right. Couture reaches for Machida’s legs and misses. Left hook for Couture finds the mark. Machida with an uppercut that whiffs. The two briefly clinch after both missing punches then separate. Right straight to the body for Couture. Right hand now for Machida. Machida tries a foot sweep from a punch and misses. Hard knee to the body for Machida and he shrugs Couture off. Couture pressing Machida into the fence, but the Brazilian escapes. Another hard knee for Machida lands, but Couture stays poised.

ROUND 1 - Both fighters come out right-handed and with awkward stances. Hard uppercut from Matyushenko sends Brilz to the mat. Matyushenko pounces with punches and hammerfists. That’s it. Referee Dan Miragliotta jumps in and saves Brilz, although the stoppage is somewhat questionable.

ROUND 1 - Henderson starts out southpaw and right away Bocek comes in trying to stalk and corner Henderson. Bocek lands a right cross and dives for Henderson’s hips against the fence. Henderson stuffs it initially and is clinched with Bocek now along the fence. The two are locked in a pummeling battle with neither man gaining much of an advantage. The referee separates them. Hard right hand again from Bocek as he level changes and drives into Henderson. He’s stuffed again and now they separate. Left hand from Henderson nearly lands and they reset. Superman punch to outside leg kick combo works for Henderson on the back end. He does it again and nearly misses again. Bocek drives into the fence and this time switch to a single leg attack and kicks out the post on Henderson. Now in full butterfly guard Bocek working on top. The round ends there.

ROUND 1 - Diaz begins southpaw as the orthdox MacDonald already begins to stalk. Both men trying to establish the distance to their benefit early with jabs and lead foot positioning. Now Diaz is doing the stalking. Head kick from MacDonald nearly finds the mark, but Diaz ducks and clinches. MacDonald changes levels for a takedown and is nearly reversed on a switch from Diaz, but the two quickly separate. Superman punch for MacDonald lands. Outside leg kicks from MacDonald land intermittently. MacDonald superman punches his way into a clinch. Diaz tries body punching, drops levels for a single, but is stuffed. The round ends there.

ROUND 1 - Pierson starts off southpaw while Ellenberger is orthodox. Not much action early as both fighters pawing with jabs and not especially committing. Ellenberger attempts a takedown, but Pierson is able to stand basically right away. Now Pierson is the one stalking. Ellenberger drives forward with punches but hits nothing but air. Hard left hand lands for American. Monster left hook drops Pierson to the mat. Ellenberger follows up with punches and that’s a wrap. Referee Herb Dean jumps in and saves Pierson from further punishment.

Roberts is reaching for a kimura and appears to be straining hard to get it, but Patrick defends and they both stand. Left hand lead for Patrick partially finds the mark. Same for a right cross. Both fighters clinch along the fence and jockey for position. Hard left over the top lands for Patrick and now he’s initiating the clinch. Inside trip for Patrick lands and he’s working on top. Patrick angles over for a head and arm triangle, but Roberts defends. Patrick defends therubber guard, stands and Patrick separates. The Canadian is landing hard left hands over and over again. The fighters clinch and the round ends here.

MacDonald escapes and now has Jensen’s back, but he’s high and is reversed. MacDonald uses clever set up to reach across and hold Jensen’s hand back to throw up the triangle. He gets it and it’s only seconds before Jensen is forced to tap. MacDonald stands with his hands raised clearly taking in the friendly atmosphere.

ROUND 1 - Watson starts off in southpaw, Makdessi in orthodox. Makdessi appears noticeably shorter than Watson, but faster as well. Side kick, but not hard, lands for Makdessi. Left hook finds the mark twice as Makdessi counter punches. Knee tap attempt for Watson goes nowhere. Left hook again lands for Watson as the American’s head is straight in the air. Two hard left hooks and a right for Makdessi as Watson shows lethargic takedowns. 360 turning side kick finds the mark for Makdessi, but Watson stays strong in the pocket. Makdessi appears lighter on his feet, but the crowd is getting impatient. The takedown attempts of Watson go nowhere.

ROUND 1 - Garza starts off with an outside leg kick. Both fighters standing orthodox. Leaping left hook for Jabouin misses. Both fighters trading leg kicks. Garza, so far, doing most of the stalking. Hard knee from Garza as he forces Jabouin into the cage and unloads. Head kick and side kick from Jabouin, the former largely blocked. Jabouin kicks out supporting leg from Garza twice after the taller fighter attempted a kick. Hard uppercut from Jabouin knocks out the mouthpiece from Garza, but he puts it back in. Fighters trade leg kicks again, but Jabouin generally gets the better of them. Flying triangle attempt from Garza and he might have it. Elbows, too. Now it’s still on except Jabouin is mounted. And then came the tap.
