UFC 137 Fight Card: Matt Mitrione Vs. Cheick Kongo Announced For Fall Fight

Another heavyweight match up has been booked for UFC 137: “St. Pierre vs. Diaz,” which is set for the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Oct. 29, 2011.

UFC President Dana White recently announced that former NFL player-turned mixed martial artist, Matt Mitrione, will put his undefeated record (5-0) on the line when he collides with Cheick Kongo.

Here is what White had to say:

“Both men are coming off big knockout wins at UFC Live in June.”

Mitrione notched a second round stoppage of Christian Morecraft, while Kongo scored a thrilling come-from-behind knockout victory over Pat Barry.

UFC 137 will feature a "super" main event between UFC and Strikeforce welterweight champions, Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz, respectively. Another 170 pound clash -- B.J. Penn vs. Carlos Condit -- is expected to serve as the co-featured fight of the night.
