It’s a low-scoring affair in Miami this afternoon, but the Heat have the lead on the Bulls after the first quarter, by a 22-18 score.
LeBron James Has Heat Leading Bulls At End Of First Quarter
LeBron James has led the way for Miami so far, with eight points and two assists, and the Heat’s Big Three of James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh has combined for 17 points.
The Bulls are struggling a bit more, with Derrick Rose going just two of five from the field in the first period.
For the Heat, it’s a welcome return to form after six quarters of abuse at the hands of the Magic and Spurs on Thursday and Friday For both teams, it’s an indication that today’s game may require the sort of suffocating halfcourt defense both athletic rosters are very capable of playing.
Also, it’s “Noche Latina” in the city sometimes called Little Havana, which means the Heat have on “El Heat” jerseys and the Bulls are in “Los Bulls” tops. I suppose Toros and Calor are just foreign concepts — no pun intended — to the NBA’s marketing department.
