Kobe Bryant came out gunning in the third quarter as the Los Angeles Lakers turned a three-point halftime lead into a 12 point lead at the end of the third quarter, 82-70. Bryant has scored a team-high 21 points thus far, leading a Lakers’ offense that’s slowly creeping away from the Dallas Mavericks. Dirk Nowitzki is doing all he can for the Mavs, but it looks like a futile effort with just 12 minutes to go.
Lakers Vs. Mavericks Score: Kobe Bryant Taking Over At Staples Center
Bryant’s getting some help from his friends at Staples Center as three other players are in double-figures. Pau Gasol has 17 points, Andrew Bynum has 16 points and Ron Artest has 10 points entering the fourth quarter. Bynum has a team-high nine rebounds and Artest has dished-out six assists.
Nowitzki has been everywhere for the Mavs, but unlike Bryant, his team isn’t helping. Nowitzki has a game-high 22 points through the third quarter, but he and Peja Stojakovic, who has 10 points, are the only Dallas players in double-figures. Tyson Chandler has a team-high 10 rebounds and Jason Kidd has six assists.
