Paul Pierce was the story of the first quarter as the Boston Celtics jumped out to an early lead, but Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat bench controlled the second quarter, and as a result, the Heat lead by a score of 46-44 at halftime after a solid second quarter in which they outscored Boston by eight points.

Wade had five points after the first quarter, but he notched nine in the second to make himself the game's leading scorer with 14 points. Joel Anthony has also looked fantastic for Miami, scoring 10 points off the bench and grabbing seven rebounds. Delonte West has been Boston's big gun off the bench, scoring 10 points.
Both teams have passed well, played defense well and rebounded well, and remarkably, both teams have shot exactly 48.6 percent from the field. As a result, the game is predictably close, and it will probably continue to be close.
