Kyle Lowry Injury: Rockets’ Point Guard Concerned He May Miss Season With Bacterial Infection

Houston Rockets point guard Kyle Lowry spoke to reporters on Monday about his recovery from a bacterial infection that he suffered earlier this month. Lowry, who has missed the Rockets' last nine games, expressed some concern that he may not return to the lineup this season. Via Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:

It would be a devastating loss for the Rockets if Lowry cannot return. The Houston point guard first suffered an injury on March 8, as an MRI revealed a bacterial infection that caused Lowry to be hospitalized. He had been complaining of a fever and abdominal pain. Since then, Lowry had been fighting the infection slowly and had been scheduled to be reevaluated in 8-10 days, Feigen reported.

Lowry was having a breakout season prior to the injury, averaging 15.9 points, 7.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. The Rockets have gone 5-4 since the injury and remain in the Western Conference playoff picture.
