The New York Knicks received somewhat good news on Amar'e Stoudemire's injured hand on Tuesday. Despite punching the glass that protected a fire extinguisher following the Knicks' Game 2 loss to the Miami Heat on Monday, Stoudemire has no ligament or tendon damage in his left hand, according to Frank Isola of the New York Daily News.

Despite the news, it remains unlikely that Stoudemire will return for the rest of the series, according to Howard Beck of the New York Times.
Paramedics had to be summoned to the scene in Miami on Monday after Stoudemire punched the fire extinguisher in frustration following New York’s 104-94 loss. His hand was wrapped up and his arm was placed in a sling.
The Knicks trail the Heat, 2-0, in the series. Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.
