Despite suffering a hand injury punching a fire extinguisher earlier in the New York Knicks' first-round NBA Playoffs series against the Miami Heat, Amar'e Stoudemire expects to play in Sunday's Game 4. Coach Mike Woodson said Friday that he thinks Stoudemire will be ready to go by Sunday, and Stoudemire said he doesn't want his season to end sitting on the sidelines.

Stoudemire suffered a left hand laceration punching a American Airlines Arena fire extinguisher after the Knicks’ 104-94 loss in Game 2. His hand was bloodied after he punched the glass, and paramedics were called to the scene. Stoudemire then had minor hand surgery to repair the wound and sat out Thursday’s Game 3. At the time, it looked like his return for the rest of the series was doubtful, but it appears he may try to play through the pain.
