The Golden State Warriors continued their dominance without Stephen Curry in Game 1 of their second-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, and the defending champs will look to take a 2-0 lead at Oracle Arena on Tuesday night.

The Warriors raced out to a 37-17 lead after the first quarter of Game 1, with Klay Thompson scoring 18 of his game-high 37 points in the opening quarter. The Blazers made a few surges throughout the rest of the game, but Golden State held steady and was never really threatened.
In addition to Thompson's monster game, Draymond Green recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Shaun Livingston ably filled in for Curry yet again, notching 12 points, six assists and four rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Blazers didn't get enough out of their star backcourt. Damian Lillard scored 30 points but he shot just 8-of-26 from the field, and C.J. McCollum went only 5-of-17.
On a more positive note, Portland got some contributions off the bench in the form of Ed Davis and Allen Crabbe, who combined for 26 points on 11-of-15 shooting. But strong efforts like those won't matter much moving forward if Lillard and McCollum continue to struggle.
As for Curry, he’s definitely out for Game 2, although he’s suggested he may be able to play in Game 3. The Warriors are going to play it safe with their star, and another convincing win in Game 2 could lead to them deciding to hold him out of Game 3 no matter what.
