The Minnesota Lynx are WNBA champions once again! Maya Moore daggered the hell out of the game with 30 seconds left and the LA Sparks just one possession behind. (Kobe loved it.) It’s the Lynx’ fourth title in the seven years since Moore arrived as a rookie in 2011. In fact, Moore hasn’t gone so much as two years without a title ... ever. In her life. Sylvia Fowles, who forced a trade to Minnesota in 2015, won her second Finals MVP. She’s not going away any time soon.

Good morning. We have that and more in Thursday’s NBA newsletter.

This was revenge for the Lynx, who lost Game 5 to Candace Parker and LA a year ago. They partied hard in the locker room, as this Swish Appeal video shows. The Mystics, Liberty, and Mercury are fascinating challengers ... but I would take a 2018 rematch of these teams in a heartbeat. Maybe with some better officiating, though.
Be sure to check out Swish Appeal for more follow-up on Thursday.

The annual GM survey is out. Here are the six most surprising results. It looks like at least one and possibly two GMs voted that the Cavaliers would win the title. Literally every other GM who voted (except Bob Myers, since GMs can’t vote for their own teams or players) picked the Warriors. Smart dudes.
