It’s a two-man show at Cameron Indoor as Duke battles Michigan State in an early top-10 matchup. Duke freshman Kyrie Irving and junior Korie Lucious both stole the first half, scoring 18 and 13 points respectively. As a result of Irving’s scoring outburst, Duke leads Michigan State at the half, 38-34.

The story of the game for the Spartans has been first half turnovers. Michigan State has turned it over 12 times in the first 20 minutes, allowing the Blue Devils to stay just out of their reach. Draymond Green and Delvon Roe combined for seven of the 12 turnovers as the Michigan State big men have struggled early-on. The two have scored as many points as they have turned it over thus far.
Irving has been near unstoppable for the Blue Devils, scoring 18 points on 6-9 shooting to lead all scorers. Irving also had a team-high three assists in the first half. Mason Plumlee added six points, while Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith each added four.
Coming off the bench, Lucious led the Spartans with 13 points and three assists on 5-6 shooting. Michigan State star Kalin Lucas has been silent in the first half, with his only two points coming from free throws. Adreian Payne provided a spark on the glass off the bench, pulling down a team-high five rebounds.
