For the first time since Jan. 14, the Temple Owls have lost. The Saint Joseph's Hawks put in a great performance at home in the Big Five rivalry game, leading for the vast majority of the contest en route to their 82-72 victory. St. Joe's isn't in the running for an NCAA at-large bid or a conference title, but has given themselves a chance to earn the No. 3 seed in the upcoming Atlantic 10 tournament.

St. Joe’s took the lead with 13:28 remaining in the first half and Temple didn’t get the lead back until 15:15 remaining in the game. The Hawks took the lead back with 13:20 left on the clock and would never trail again, eventually pulling away in the final minutes.

Langston Galloway led all scorers with 22 points, while Carl Jones scored 18 despite shooting just 3-11 from the floor, thanks to a 9-10 shooting performance from the free-throw line. Michael Eric was Temple's leading scorer with 16 points.

Temple still has the outright lead in the A-10, but this loss gives Saint Louis a chance to claim a piece of the regular season title.
