A comparison study of the Week 6 BlogPoll college football rankings and those of the Associated Press Poll shows that there’s at least some conventional wisdom at work this early in the season:

| 22 | Wisconsin Badgers | Oklahoma State |
| 23 | Missouri Tigers | Florida State |
| 24 | Florida St. Seminoles | Missouri |
| 25 | Air Force Falcons | Air Force |
Top five: Nearly identical. Oregon hops Ohio State in the BlogPoll, but beyond that, it appears bloggers and mainstream media types are in close to perfect agreement regarding the country’s best teams.
Next five: Perfectly identical in slots 6-10.
Creamy middle: In the 11-20 slots, Florida is devalued considerably more by the BlogPoll for the Gators’ loss at Alabama. There’s also greater separation between the two polls in the perceived strengths of Michigan and Michigan State.
Hangers-on: Air Force perches on the bottom rung in both polls.
