SB Nation’s Corn Nation celebrates Nebraska’s two weeks in a row as Walter Camp player of the week award recipients following the Huskers’ high-profile win over Missouri. This time around, it’s speedy back Roy Helu in the spotlight:
Nebraska Reaps Benefits Of Mizzou Win With BCS Boost, Walter Camp Honors
Hard to say whether a different offensive game plan would have made much difference today. Certainly, the Tigers didn't have an answer for Roy Helu today, who' was named the Walter Camp national offensive player of the week for his performance against the Tigers. That's two in a row for the Huskers, as Taylor Martinez won the same award last week.
The Huskers’ win was also predictably helpful in the rankings; beating the No. 6 Tigers skipped Nebraska from No. 14 in the BCS standings to No. 7. It was the Huskers’ second consecutive victory over a ranked team. They’ll likely remain in their lofty perches for at least a couple more weeks, with only Iowa State and Kansas standing between them and a 9-1 record.
