In today’s episode of Will Wonders Never Cease, LSU’s offense looked good for an entire touchdown drive.
LSU Vs. Mississippi: Tigers Take Back Lead Behind Passing Game
The Bayou Bengals overcame an early holding penalty thanks to a couple of big plays from Jordan Jefferson to Reuben Randle and Chase Clement, then got a touchdown on a gutty Jefferson run up the middle.
The two-point conversion afterward was a nice return to typical dysfunction, however: a reverse to Terrance Toliver lost yardage, leaving the Rebels less than a touchdown back at 29-24.
The 29 points is the second-most LSU has rolled up against an SEC defense this season. (LSU beat Florida 33-29.) But more impressively, this may be one of Jordan Jefferson’s finest games as a Tiger: he’s 10 of 14 for 200 yards, despite an interception, and has been effective as a runner. Unsurprisingly, this is one of the better days the LSU offense has had in a long while.
Now, it’s the defense’s turn to step up.
