That score at 12:15 in the fourth will put the last remaining points on the board for the 2010 Iron Bowl, as it happens. Alabama mounts its lengthiest drive of the game, chronologically, and eats over six minutes of clock just to get from their own 31 to Auburn's 40-yard line, but a hard sack on Greg McElroy knocks the Tide's starting quarterback out of the game with an apparent right shoulder injury. [UPDATE: Still no word on the extent of McElroy's injury, but he's being examined by medical personnel for concussion symptoms, and doesn't look set to return.]
Auburn runs Cam Newton on the ground for five straight plays, and Onterio McCalebb for two, and that'll run the clock down to 1:01. A.J. McCarron, the alternately beloved and be-loathed backup quarterback, enters the game with 51 seconds remaining. Julio Jones, sidelined for most of the second half with an undisclosed injury of his own. McCarron throws four straight incompletions, and that'll do it for this year's hateration. Auburn wins the 2010 Iron Bowl, 28-27.
