It sure seems like Oklahoma has this Bedlam Game handled.
Oklahoma State Vs. Oklahoma: Sooners Capitalize On Pick To Take 14-3 Win
After intercepting Brandon Weeden in Oklahoma State territory, the Sooners went 30 yards in six plays to add a second touchdown and go up 14-3 in Stillwater. (Dan Bailey kicked a late first quarter field goal for the Cowboys.)
The Sooners defense has been the dominant unit in this game so far, limiting the top-ranked offense in the nation to just 75 yards on 19 plays. And the Oklahoma State passing game has been particularly anemic: Weeden has more incompletions than completions, and Justin Blackmon hadn’t made a catch until moments ago — when he caught a short out route and limped to the sideline. Blackmon was in a hard cast all week thanks to an ankle injury.
To make matters worse, Weeden also threw his second pick of the game just moments ago, and he, too, limped off the field. This isn’t how the Cowboys, playing for their first 11-win season, envisioned this Bedlam Game unfolding.
But if there’s any solace to be taken from this start, it’s that the Cowboys have the firepower to get back in this game quickly, and that this weekend has been rather conducive to comebacks in college football.
