Suddenly, Oklahoma State is alive. And again, it was the defense of the team with the top-ranked offense in the country making the big play — this time, perhaps an all-time great play.
Oklahoma State Vs. Oklahoma: Fantastic Interception, Justin Blackmon Spark Cowboys
Brodrick Brown jumped out of bounds, tipped a Landry Jones pass — seemingly, a pass that was merely thrown away — back into play, and Shaun Lewis intercepted it. It’s one of the better interceptions you will ever see, and it was Jones’ third pick of the night.
The Cowboys couldn’t do anything with the ball on that possession, but Oklahoma State forced the Sooners to punt, too, and got the ball back near midfield as a result.
Then Justin Blackmon got loose down the sideline, and hauled in a 45-yard reception to give the Cowboys a red-zone possession, one that Jeremy Smith finished with a two-yard plunge for paydirt.
After all of that, it’s now 21-17 in Stillwater. And there’s still a little more than a half left to play. Bedlam? Bedlam.
